Concert Summary

This recording was made during Cooper’s early 1978 tour, which he had launched to promote his first live album, The Alice Cooper Show, three years after the original and enormously popular Alice Cooper Band had been dissolved. Cooper himself was trying to make the transition from camp-ish rock ghoul to more mainstream pop icon, as songs like "Only Women Bleed," and "How You Gonna See Me Now?" clearly reveal.

His band was made up of …entire summary

I saw this show in Dayton, Ohio in '78. AC had morphed into a true stage act and less a musician. I really enjoyed the show, but longed for the rawness and true rock and roll of the original line up. This was a musically talented backing ensemble, but no where near the guitar skills of Hunter/Wagner (previous AC backups), or, for that fact, Mike Smith's drumming from the original ACG

I enjoy Alice Cooper... but I want the real members... What would the Beatles have been without John Lennon? Glen Buxton isnt present... so not real. I grew up in Clarion, Iowa... 2 blocks away from Glen... TRUE STORY!

Some great renditions of some of Alice's biggest hits. This band is tight! I liked hearing some of his slower numbers, i.e. I Never Cry, You and Me, along with his older classics. Excellent show.

Alice's later band which featured Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter was amazing. Watch the "Welcome to My Nightmare" DVD and watch the guitar duel. Simply amazing.

great show, I love this era of Alice's career. And what a band Davey and Dee from Elton's Band. They sound fantastic

My first concert...Fillmore East 1971 they opened for BloodRock. Had no idea who Alice was. The drummer had super long blonde hair and we couldn't see him clearly so we thought that must be Alice; a woman. Then Alice came out with the hammer and then the snake..being 16 years old this was a bit of a shocker.

I'm just a fan. And Alice Coopper always is good to hear. Of course that I prefer the original band, but Alice Cooper I think is bigger than that. Last year I went to his show "PsycoTour" here in Brasil, and it was perfect!

Good Set, I have to disagree with the summary though. This backup band has got nothing on the original band (one of the greatest rock bands of all time!). This sounds like a bunch of hired pros trying to sound like a real band (very little vibe here)... oh wait, that's what it is!
