Partnering with Julie Driscoll, Auger formed the Trinity, which recorded some of the most intriguing albums of the late 1960s, achieving international recognition for their cover of Dylan's "This Wheel's On Fire" in 1968. Straddling jazz, rhythm & blues, folk, gospel and pop in equal measure, the…entire summary

Clive Chaman's bass playing is truly stellar here. I've always loved his work with the Jeff Beck Group, but here, live, his playing is way ahead of its time! So glad to be able to hear it after all these years!!!

Brian is one of the most consistantly soulful and energetic performers out there - a true national treasure. Thanks for the music and joy you have brought into my life!

Regarding concert summary: "Although lyrically the song is clearly dated to the late-1960s" I would have to say that the same sentiments very well apply today such as the line "The President has his war no one knows what for... No one gave us a rhyme or reason Fed up with the whole godam nation Sounds about right. Mr. McCann and Mr. Harris. Also the Montreux Live Album one of the great albums of the past 50 years. I like Auger's version as well! Steve in S.F.

rob in niles , I will finish my last comment it was not done when it submitted with lynyrd skynyrd spelled wrong. The last 2 of my top 5 Winterland concerts are Robin Trower with those clean licks he filled the place with great tones. The Who on a wild wednesday night concert with tickets won thru a drawing put on the best show I ever saw and Bill G. was just off stage not missing a thing, wow. Thanks again for the Auger show it brought it all back for me .

  • rob in niles | Wednesday, August 27, 2008 | 5:52 pm

This is Rob in Niles ,Thank you for Auger , I asked for it when wolfgang was new and yes I was there. Poor headliner fleetwood mac had to follow these guys. Even with all their potted palm trees on the stage , mac did not deliver as the sound was high pitched and vocals were bad. Brian Auger is in my top five shows at Winterland great sound ,cool. along with Lynard skiyard original band with 3 lead guitars upfront they were second billed on that tour Freebird was great . Eric Burdon when sun secrets album came out in the 70's, he kicked ass has mucho hits and Bill graham came on and invited them back soon "if your going to play like that" a few weeks later they came back so wasted they could hardly play and never returned that I know of. rounding out the top 5
