Concert Summary

This live recording by Genesis was a landmark King Biscuit Flower Hour appearance because it marked the first time the band had been heard on a national broadcast with its new line-up, after the departure of lead singer Peter Gabriel. The band had toured for over a year between 1974 and 1975, performing 103 shows on the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour knowing the whole time that Gabriel would be departing to focus on his new family and to launch a solo career. The band had pleaded with Gabriel not to go public…entire summary

I'd imagine the band were livid with Bill's little groove during the incidental passages. According to "Chapter & Verse" he was something of a rebel -- messing w/ the group's measures here and there. Of course it's refreshing to us; a fantastic "White Mountain" by the way. I never knew they performed this awesome piece that late into their career. And while Peter's vocal majesty is missed, Phil handles himself quite well, and truth is even Invisible Touch has certain compositional moments.

I saw Genesis on this tour 13 June 1976 in London at the Hammersmith Apollo, with slide show and Suppers Ready and most of T.O.T.T.absolutely awesome,it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.I was also lucky enough to see them in Stafford at the Bingley Hall 10 July 1976 this was without doubt one of my top 3 gigs ever. While in Stafford i stayed in a hotel over night in the town center and it was called THE VINE,hows that for a coincidence.

There is a band out there right now called The Musical Box who recreate Genesis to the finite detail, they are touring A Trick of the Tail right now. This is not a greatest hits show but the actual ATOTT show right down to the smalest detail including the original slides used by Genesis! Check them out! www.themusicalbox.net

I am a Genesis fan of over 30 years I saw the Wind and Wuthering Tour Earls Court London 1977 and it was the most amazing show I have seen EVER. They were a devasting live band unequalled. Old songs beautifully recreated by Phil incredibly emotive new songs and the best light and sound show bar none. For me and many other Genesis Fans of my age the heart was ripped out of the band when Steve left - probably the most under-rated guitarist ever, his ghostly pastoral guitar sound was never replaced check out firth of fifth on this show or ripples as an example of his understated fluid playing

Phil took over the riegns from peter and made genesis the best band to ever bless my ears. Although im only 28 and wish i'd of been around to see these concerts live, there is no doubt in my mind Genesis were/are the best band ever. (and then there was oasis!!)haha

I saw this in Vancouver when I was fifteen. Four dollars a tik, California Sunshine and the first of the real Columbian Gold. The band was mind boggling. A life altering event only to be equaled by YES in the Round for sound, emotion and intensity. The show I saw was the Wind tour and Bruford was gone. Hackett was devastating. Suppers Ready was over the top. I so much missed that band when the evil Phil took over beginning with Duke. Memories...heavy sigh.
