Concert Summary

This run of Jimi Hendrix concerts at Winterland, with Dino Valenti and then Buddy Miles Express opening, produced some of the most interesting Hendrix sets ever recorded. In mid-1968, just as he was releasing his monumental Electric Ladyland LP, Hendrix began actively and fervently pursuing opportunities to jam with other musicians. He became more conscious of his…entire summary

Nice shows, what goes around comes around! And we all know that whatever Hendrix shows are out there are the ones for us. Good or bad quality, tunings, mistakes and technical difficulties. We love it

...and I guess his guitar tech sucked because he had to tune up after each song. That WAS the old days.

2nd and 3rd track were mediocre. The rest was awesomely awesome.

This is fantastic, I wish they had more shows available. I really can't add more to what others have said about Jimi's talent (Equal parts pure ability and imagination. And no, that didn't come from acid. If it did, then there would be hundreds of Hendrix clones today). I also think Mitch Mitchell was enormously talented. Perfect match for Jimi, just as Elvin Jones was perfect for Coltrane. Mitch's peers praised his talent - great drummers like Keith Moon and Nick Mason had nothing but great things to say about Mitch. I haven't read an interview with Ginger Baker where he mentioned Mitch, but I'm sure he admired him too. Give us more, please! ;>)
