Concert Summary

Phil Collins taped this show near the end of his first solo U.S. tour. He had seen significant success from his two solo albums, Face Value and Hello, I Must Be Going! and was playing to intimate theater audiences, enthusiastic to hear his own material, and not necessarily the music he made with Genesis. He assembled an all-star band that included the side musicians that had been on the recent Genesis tours, including Chester Thompsonentire summary

remember listening to wmmr and hearing about phil coming to the Tower. Being a HUGE Genesis fan booked out of work and headed to the Tower to get wrist bands. Got out wrist bands and met up with some folks we met in line. Let them go first and they got back of the theater tickets, we were next (with their help) and ended up in the 3rd row. Felt super bad, but could give 'em up. AWESOME CONCERT! Me, Mark and Jay! 26 years ago...We event taped it on a little recorder. I'm awe-struck I found this show online! Enjoy!

Does anyone else remember waiting in line for wrist bands the day before?

Dave Subers was there. Best line of the concert. "You think you got problems...I gotta do this all again later". Awesome show, sat third row center stage. Stands out as the best show of my life!
