Concert Summary

Recorded six years before Vaughan’s untimely death in a helicopter crash outside of East Troy, Wisconsin, this is among the finest live recordings of the legendary Texas bluesman one is ever likely to hear.

Vaughan first achieved national recognition as the original guitarist on David Bowie's ‘Serious Moonlight/Let’s Dance’ project in 1983. By the time this concert was recorded the following year, he had already garnered enough success as a solo artist to be able to play a full 90-minute show of cutting edge blues…entire summary

I was called from the AA hotline in LaPorte, In to make a meeting at the Civic Auditorium. I got two friends and we went there and the meeting was with SRV. We talked about an hour and a half and he gave me two tickets and a backstage pass. My two friends had never heard of SRV,I had seen him at the Newport Jazz Festival! How cool!

lamermichel, Thanks for your comment but it seems you're mistaken. He's just playing the same little run a dozen times or so. If you listen carefully you can hear the bass line moving along underneath. If you still don't buy it, listen for a whistle from the crowd at 1:54. stay tuned...

Did anyone of the technical staff notice that between 1:48 and 1:58 of "Mary had a little lamb" the player is going nuts like an old defective CD player or a Windows overheaded system (I thought at first it came from my PC but it always happens at the same place) ? This should be fixed if you have any intention of making this excellent concert downloadable Thank you for all you do to please us
