To jvaljean: Yes, it was Neil. One of the best Rock & Roll photographs I have ever seen is a shot of Neil & Jerry playing together during that song. Being there that day was one of the best & toughest days. A dream come true musically, but a terrible day for all of us Bay Area music fans. Bill brought us a lot of bands to experience. The music scene has not been the same since Bills departure. We who got to see it, are blessed with so many great memories. The DC-3 dropping flowers on the crowd while the Dead played! Bill would have absoultly loved it. Thank You Bill. We still miss you!

thank you so much for making this concert available!!! This was one of the most memorable days of my life. I won't ever forget that beautiful day, amazing that so many wonderful artists came together to pay tribute to Bill Graham. Remember the carnations floating down from the sky? Sharing space with people filled with love and magic. And the Dead singing with CSN&Y at the end. Thank you so much!

I knew about Bill Graham thanks to Santana because they were all the way together. You can see Bill Graham in the Woodstock film when Santana finishes playing, he starts signaling something to Santana's organist, great Gregg Rolie who9 looks very "high". Bill my HERO.

I was there...as was my best friend and best girlfriend...although she din't do the acid that my friend and I did. I still have that day's newspaper article putting the concert at 300,000! The most memorable: Dead doing 'Hell in a hand Basket'...circling in the sky…a DC-3 Dakota…with “Spunkmeyer’ on the wings…then it became obvious that something was being dropped from the circling plane…packets of cookies?...gonna hurt??...nope….flowers!!...tons of ‘em. The sky was filled with all kinds of different colored flowers!!! It was flower rain shower!! And the Dead’s music kept getting faster and louder…’going to hell in a hand basket’….Quite-a-trip!!

What a great concert to post. We had to make "The Pilgrimage" to honor our hero, and his people, that made our young lives so special. For me it is especially beautiful because my best friend/husband died two years ago and we stood together that day in l991 with tears streaming down our faces and also joyful with the music. The love and music will always live in my heart. Bill Graham and my husband will always be two of my heroes.

As far as the quality of this Dead Nugget, it is a nice piece of nostalga. Sometimes it makes me sad when I think about and hear ol' Jerry up there grinding it out in the later days. I was just a wee lad before most of the real good times were had. I was not at this show but what an emotional day this must have been. So what if all the performances weren't spot on. Sometimes music has that potential to reach us where other forms of communication can't. Dog bless all of these great artists and Dog Bless Bill Graham.

I was at the concert. What a mixture of emotions I had seeing this come up on The Vault. I mean, it was sad, man! But, a celebration of Bill's life it was as well, and what a celebration it was! Everybody was there, watching The GD back up Fogerty was a gas! Arron singing Ave MAria... I will eat an Apple for you today Bill!
