You can hear the raw energy of the MC5 and Kramer's love of horns in the tracks from Sly and the Family Stone, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and The Animals.
Jeff Beck and Steve Cropper (of the MG's) are two guitarists that Kramer respects greatly. The two tracks selected here mirror the soulful aspects and technical aptitude of Wayne's playing.
"Orange Lady" from Weather Report displays some of the tonality-based compositions that Kramer has been leaning towards recently, especially on his soon-to-be-released album, Lexington.
Wayne has been friends with Marshall Crenshaw since they were both living in New York in the early 1980's, eventually resulting in Crenshaw playing second guitar during some recent DKT tours.
Lastly, the track by the Everly Brothers reveals Wayne's softer side and represents one of his earliest influences.
